Marching in Darkness

Marching in Darkness, originally titled Marciando nel buio, is an Italian drama film written and directed by Massimo Spano. Set within a military environment and touching on LGBTQ themes, it had its premiere at the 52nd Venice International Film Festival.

The film follows Saro, a young private, and Sergeant Gianni Tricarico, who feels drawn to him. When Saro is brutally attacked one night, the revelation that the unit's influential commander Captain Roatta is among the assailants turns the case into a tense investigation carried out under the pressure of military hierarchy. The cast features Jean-Marc Barr as Captain Roatta, Roberto Citran as Captain Marsili, who leads the inquiry, and Thomas Kretschmann.
