Our Husbands
Our Husbands (Italian: I nostri mariti) is a 1966 Italian anthology comedy built from three separate episodes, each centered on a different marriage. Luigi Filippo D'Amico directed "Roberta's Husband", Luigi Zampa handled "Olga's Husband", and Dino Risi took charge of "Attilia's Husband", a segment whose satirical subtitle hints at fidelity through the centuries.
Each sketch approaches the institution of marriage from a comic angle, poking fun at husbands, wives and the social conventions surrounding them in 1960s Italy. The ensemble cast features Alberto Sordi and Jean-Claude Brialy alongside performers such as Nicoletta Machiavelli, Michèle Mercier, Ugo Tognazzi, Lando Buzzanca and Akim Tamiroff. The screenplay was written by Rodolfo Sonego together with the celebrated duo Agenore Incrocci and Furio Scarpelli. Shot in Italian with a running time of about 105 minutes, the film brings together several of the era's most popular directors, writers and stars in the tradition of the Italian sketch comedy, offering three distinct takes on the same theme under one title.
