Promotion canapé

Promotion canapé is a 1990 French comedy directed by Didier Kaminka. The story follows two young women who leave the provinces for Paris and take jobs at the PTT, the national postal service. Hoping to build careers in the capital, they soon discover that climbing the ladder is far from easy, and that the fastest route to promotion seems to run through intimate involvement with their superiors. The film takes its title from a French expression equivalent to the English "casting couch," describing workplace advancement bought with romantic favors. The cast includes Eddy Mitchell and Rufus alongside performers such as Jean-Pierre Castaldi, Martin Lamotte and Claude Rich. Written by Claude Zidi together with Kaminka, the film offers a satirical look at office culture and gender politics in contemporary France.
