Rangeela (transl. "Colourful") is a 1995 Indian Hindi-language musical romantic drama, written and directed by Ram Gopal Varma, who also co-produced it. Released on 8 September 1995, it stars Aamir Khan, Urmila Matondkar, and Jackie Shroff. Built around a love triangle, the story follows Mili, a young woman who rises from film extra to leading lady, and the two men drawn to her — her street-smart childhood friend and the established star who discovers her.

The film became one of the year's biggest box office successes and was screened in the mainstream section of the International Film Festival of India. Its soundtrack and Matondkar's performance drew particular praise: it marked A. R. Rahman's first Hindi film with an original score and proved a breakthrough for the actress. At the 41st Filmfare Awards, Rangeela won seven of its fourteen nominations, including Best Supporting Actor for Shroff and Best Music Director for Rahman. It was also dubbed in Tamil, with its songs rewritten for a separate soundtrack version.
