Victim of Lust (Şehvet Kurbanı) (translated)

Victim of Lust is a 1940 Turkish drama film written by Nâzım Hikmet and directed by Muhsin Ertuğrul. It was adapted from The Blue Angel (1930), the film that made Marlene Dietrich famous. The main roles are played by Cahide Sonku alongside Muhsin Ertuğrul himself, Ferdi Tayfur, Suavi Tedü and Nevin Akkaya.

The story follows bank teller Ahmet Barksever, who is sent to Adana on a collection assignment, and the events that befall him during the train journey and in the city. Filmed at studios in Istanbul's Haydarpaşa Station, Maltepe, Mecidiyeköy and Eminönü, it also stands out as the first Turkish fiction film to depict Adana. The film, which premiered at İpek Cinema, runs 73 minutes.
