Shining Star

Shining Star (Persian: Setare-ye Forouzan) is a 1969 Iranian drama film written and directed by Assadollah Soleimanifar. It belongs to the popular Persian-language commercial cinema of pre-revolutionary Iran, commonly known as Filmfarsi. The picture stars Forouzan, one of the leading actresses of that era, alongside Ahmad Qadakchian, Yadollah Mohammadinejad and Farangis Farahzadi, with supporting turns from Soraya Beheshti, Ebrahim Fakhar and Farhad Mohabbat. Produced in Iran and shot in Persian, it stands as an example of the mainstream melodramatic filmmaking that flourished in the country during the late 1960s.
