Hashem Khan

Hashem Khan is a 1966 Persian-language thriller and drama film from Iran, helmed by director Mohammad Zarrindast. The story was first written by Mohammadali Zarandi together with L. Larish, after which Zarrindast reworked the script himself. The film marked his second outing behind the camera, coming after the America-set Khane-ye Sheni (1962). On screen it brings together Füruzan, Behruz Vüsuki, Nasır Melek, Ahmad Qadakchian, Yadollah Mohammadinejad and Katayoun Amirebrahimi. It also holds a place in the studio's history as the very first picture produced by Moulin Rouge, even though ticket sales ultimately disappointed. Abroad, audiences knew it under a variety of names, including Appointment in Esfahan, Amore e Sangue a Esfahan and Todesfalle Esfahan. Based on posters and foreign-release credits, Grunfilms-Italia held the exclusive rights, while Berthy Films also took part in the film's distribution.
