Vasvaseye sheitan

Vasvaseye sheitan (Persian: وسوسهٔ شیطان) is a 1967 Iranian drama film directed by Mohammad Zarrindast. The screenplay was written by Zarrindast together with Rahim Moeini Kermanshahi and Karim Fakour as a free adaptation of Fyodor Dostoevsky's celebrated novel The Brothers Karamazov. Shot in Persian and running about 90 minutes, the film transplants the novel's themes of conflict between a father and his sons, and the moral reckoning that follows, into an Iranian setting. The cast is led by the well-known actors Behruz Vüsuki and Pouri Banayi. The picture is remembered as an example of the adaptations of Western literary classics that appeared in Iranian cinema of the period.
