Anno uno (Sıfır Yılı)

Anno uno is a 1974 Italian biographical drama directed by Roberto Rossellini, released internationally as Year One. The film portrays the political rebuilding of post-fascist Italy between 1944 and 1954, following the career of statesman Alcide De Gasperi (1881–1954), a central figure of that era. Luigi Vannucchi plays De Gasperi, with a supporting cast that includes Paolo Bonacelli, Valeria Sabel, Gianni Rizzo and Renato Scarpa. Rossellini co-wrote the screenplay with Marcella Mariani. The picture belongs to the director's later period, in which he turned his attention to historical and political subjects, examining the individuals who shaped their times.
