Talaash: The Answer Lies Within (Talaash)

Talaash is a 2012 Hindi-language psychological thriller written and directed by Reema Kagti, with Zoya Akhtar as co-writer. Produced jointly by Excel Entertainment and Aamir Khan Productions, it was released on 30 November 2012. The story follows police inspector Surjan, whose marriage crumbles after he loses his young son in an accident, as he investigates the suspicious death of Bollywood star Arman Kapoor; through the enigmatic Simran, long-buried truths begin to surface.

Set in the back alleys of Mumbai, the film stars Aamir Khan alongside Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji, with Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rajkummar Rao in supporting roles. Featuring music by Ram Sampath, the film drew positive reviews for its themes, direction and performances, earned three nominations at the 58th Filmfare Awards, and ranked among the highest-grossing Indian films of 2012.
