The Beehive

The Beehive (original Persian title Kandoo) is a 1975 Iranian drama film written and directed by Fereydun Gole. Produced by Sierra Film, it stars Behrouz Vossoughi alongside Davoud Rashidi, Jalal Pishvaeian and Reza Karam-Rezaei. Shot in Persian and running about 112 minutes, the picture belongs to the popular Filmfarsi tradition of Iranian cinema, yet it is also counted among the notable works associated with the Iranian New Wave. In a poll of critics and writers conducted by an Iranian film magazine, it was chosen as one of the finest films in the history of Iranian cinema, securing its reputation as one of Gole's best-known achievements as both screenwriter and director.
