The Enchanting Enemy

The Enchanting Enemy (original title L'incantevole nemica, released in France as Pattes de velours) is a 1953 Italian-French comedy film directed by Claudio Gora. The picture stars Silvana Pampanini, Robert Lamoureux and Carlo Campanini, with a supporting ensemble that includes Ugo Tognazzi, Nando Bruno and Nerio Bernardi. Shot in Italian and running about 90 minutes, it was scripted by Edoardo Anton together with the celebrated writing duo Agenore Incrocci and Furio Scarpelli, and produced by Orso Film and Mambor Films. The sets were created by art directors Alberto Boccianti and Oscar D'Amico. The film belongs to the popular Italian comedy tradition of the early 1950s and stands among the early directing efforts of Gora, who was also widely known as a stage and screen actor.
