Il carabiniere a cavallo is a 1961 Italian comedy film directed by Carlo Lizzani, released in 1962. The screenplay was co-written by Ruggero Maccari and Ettore Scola, two of the most prolific writers of Italian comedy of that era. Some commentators have described the picture as an unusual entry in its director's body of work.
