The Stone Council

The Stone Council (Le Concile de pierre) is a 2006 French-Italian thriller directed by Guillaume Nicloux. Adapted by Nicloux and Stéphane Cabel from Jean-Christophe Grangé's novel of the same name, the film follows Diane Siprien, a single scientist who adopts a boy named Liu-San from Mongolia, and the disturbing events that begin when a strange mark appears on the child's chest.

After recording the boy speaking an unknown language, Diane investigates his true origins and uncovers an intercontinental, mystical conspiracy tied to a Mongolian tribe and the enigmatic Stone Council. Filmed in Mongolia and Paris, the film stars Monica Bellucci, Catherine Deneuve and Moritz Bleibtreu.
