Three Ruthless Ones (El sabor de la venganza)

Three Ruthless Ones (Spanish: El sabor de la venganza) is a western made in 1964 as a Spanish-Italian co-production. Joaquín Luis Romero Marchent directed it from a script credited to Marcello Fondato, Rafael Romero Marchent and the director himself. It is usually placed among the pre-Leone spaghetti westerns, the films that laid the groundwork for the sub-genre.

Richard Harrison and Robert Hundar lead the cast, with Gloria Milland, Fernando Sancho, José Manuel Martín, Luis Induni, Aldo Sambrell and Miguel Palenzuela in support. The film was shot around Almería in Spain and runs 97 minutes.

Alberto Grimaldi produced and Riz Ortolani wrote the score. The film went by many names: Gunfight at High Noon, Sons of Vengeance and Eye for an Eye are among its English alternatives, Les Trois Implacables was its French title and Abrechnung in Veracruz its German one; it first opened to German-speaking audiences on 23 October 1964.
