Duck, You Sucker! (Yabandan Gelen Adam)

Movie · 1971–1973 · 2 people

Directed by Sergio Leone and released in 1971, the spaghetti western Giù la testa (Duck, You Sucker!) unfolds in Mexico during the revolutionary turmoil of the 1910s. Juan Miranda, a rough-edged bandit who robs stagecoaches, crosses paths with John Mallory, a fugitive Irish revolutionary and explosives expert, under less-than-friendly circumstances. Spotting John's talent with dynamite, Juan recruits him for a raid on the Mesa Verde bank, but the scheme drags the pair unwillingly into the heart of the revolution, where they become heroes despite heavy sacrifices. Starring Rod Steiger and James Coburn, the picture is the second chapter of Leone's informal 'Once Upon a Time' trilogy, between Once Upon a Time in the West and Once Upon a Time in America. It was the last Western Leone directed, and some critics regard it as one of his most underrated works.
