Zeki Demirkubuz — Biography
Zeki Demirkubuz (born 1 October 1964 in Isparta) is a Turkish film director, screenwriter, producer and editor, regarded as one of the leading figures of auteur cinema in Turkey.
Educated at Istanbul University's Faculty of Communications, he entered the film industry in 1986 as an assistant to director Zeki Ökten. After founding his own production company, he directed his first feature, C Blok (1994). His second film, Masumiyet (1997), was shown at the Venice Film Festival; Üçüncü Sayfa and Yazgı brought him international recognition, and İtiraf (2001) was selected for the Cannes Film Festival.
His other major films include Bekleme Odası (2003), Kader (2006), Kıskanmak (2009), Yeraltı (2012), Bulantı (2015), Kor (2016) and Hayat (2023). He has also taken acting roles in some of his films.
