Ahu Türkpençe — Biography
Ahu Türkpençe was born on 2 January 1977 in Samsun, Turkey. While studying physics at Yıldız Technical University she developed a strong interest in theatre, auditioned successfully for the Müjdat Gezen Art Center, and left her university studies to train there.
She began acting on the television series Yedi Numara and Azad before making her film debut in Ezel Akay's Neredesin Firuze. Cast as Esma Kozan Arhan in Bir İstanbul Masalı, one of Turkey's most-watched series, she gained wide recognition and won Best Actress at the Afife Jale Theatre Awards for the role. She followed that success with the series Şöhret, appeared in the 2010 film Kaybedenler Kulübü, and earned praise for her lead performance in Deniz Akçay's 2013 film Köksüz. In 2016 she featured in Alper Çağlar's Dağ 2, and between 2017 and 2021 she took a lead role in the Börü television series and its film spin-off.
