The House of Leyla

The House of Leyla (Turkish: Leyla'nın Evi) is a 2013 Turkish romantic drama television series. Although its title recalls Zülfü Livaneli's book Leyla'nın Evi, the production is not an adaptation of that novel and its story is entirely different. Ahu Türkpençe stars as Leyla.

The story follows Leyla, who after the murder of her beloved husband Ramazan struggles to rebuild happiness with her two children, Mehmet and Merve. Married at sixteen, Leyla sees her modest life in Berlin shattered when her construction-worker husband is killed; years later, the grown Mehmet sets out to uncover the truth behind his father's death, only to discover that the family of the woman he has fallen in love with is connected to the crime. Çağatay Ulusoy plays Mehmet, with Irmak Ceren Öztürk as Merve.
