Alican Albayrak — Biography

Alican Albayrak was born on 2 April 1987 in İzmir, the only child of a civil-servant family. As a boy he spent eight years in the youth ranks of Karşıyaka Spor Kulübü before shifting his focus to theatre, preparing for conservatory entrance exams at a private acting school in İzmir. He then won a place in the acting programme at Süleyman Demirel University's Faculty of Fine Arts, completed an internship at the İzmir State Theatre, and spent a stretch in the United States attending workshops before returning home.

His screen career began in 2011 with a guest part in Kanal D's Şüphe, followed that same season by the role of Kuzey in Fox's Derin Sular. The next year he played Atıl in ATV's Uçurum, and in 2013 took the part of Çekmece Nuri in İnadına Yaşamak. In 2014 he portrayed Poyraz Yiğiter in Diğer Yarım, made a guest appearance in Acil Aşk Aranıyor, and joined the cast of Kara Ekmek that same year; he also appeared in Alman Kuzusu.

Albayrak is best remembered for playing Lieutenant Murat opposite Berk Oktay and Murat Serezli in Savaşçı, a role he left in 2018.
