Alper Çağlar — Biography
Süleyman Alper Çağlar (born 1 September 1981 in Ankara) is a Turkish film director, screenwriter, producer and editor. During his high school years at Robert College he created stories, animations and comics, and shot his first film, the documentary "Not So Far Away", in Kyrgyzstan. After studying at the University of Virginia in the United States on a scholarship, he graduated from the Graphic Design Department of Bilkent University.
He directed "4 Saat" in 2004 and in 2006 founded the production company ÇağlarArts, named after his admiration for LucasArts. His short films "Bukalemun" (2006) and "Camgöz" (2007) won festival awards, and he went on to direct the features "Büşra" (2009), "Dağ" (2012), "Panzehir" (2014) and "Dağ 2" (2016).
In 2018 he directed the film "Börü" and the series of the same name, as well as "İyi Oyun". He is the director of the Turkish-mythology-themed project "İlk Göktürk: Önsöz", whose trailer was released in late 2025, with the production expected to reach audiences in 2026.
