The Mountain II (Dağ 2)

The Mountain II is a Turkish action, war and drama film written and directed by Alper Çağlar, released in theatres on November 4, 2016. A sequel to the 2012 film The Mountain, its budget was raised roughly tenfold over the first film's 170,000 TL, reaching 1.7 million TL. With special permission from the Turkish Armed Forces, real domestically produced weapons and armored military vehicles were used during filming. Running 135 minutes, the film drew over three million viewers in Türkiye, becoming the most-watched film of 2016. It stars Çağlar Ertuğrul, Ufuk Bayraktar and Murat Serezli.

Six years after Oğuz and Bekir escaped terrorist captivity in the first film, the two friends join the Special Forces 8th Combat Search and Rescue Team. Their mission is to rescue journalist Ceyda Balaban, who has been kidnapped by a terrorist organization in northern Iraq. This time, however, multiple hostile forces clash across the unforgiving terrain, making the operation far more dangerous than anything they faced before.
