Burçin Bildik — Biography

Burçin Bildik was born in 1968 in the Bakırköy district of Istanbul; he rarely saw his father, while his uncle by marriage was the singer Atınç. He began doing amateur theatre as a young man with Gökhan Semiz and Uğur Uludağ, studied in the Turkish Folk Dances Department of the State Conservatory at Istanbul Technical University, and stepped into music in 1990 by playing percussion for the band Grup Sevgi Yolcuları before eventually leaving to pursue a solo path.

Bildik turned to acting in his thirties, first appearing on screen in a 2006 Vestel commercial at the urging of Hulusi Derici, followed by campaigns for Yapı Kredi, AtlasJet and Vatan Computer; he became widely recognized through the ads for the directory-assistance service 118-33, again on Derici's suggestion. He made his film debut in Sağ Salim, then played Burhan in Arkadaşım Max (2013), Salim in Sağ Salim 2: Sil Baştan (2014), and Selamet in Sen Sağ Ben Selamet (2016).

Since 2017 he has played the character Müsellim in the series Yeni Gelin. In 2011 he lost his first wife, Zeynep Elçin, to a brain hemorrhage while she was swimming in the sea; his subsequent marriage to Çiğdem Dikerler ended in divorce in 2022. He has periodically returned to the stage and continues to pursue music alongside acting.
