Çağla Şikel — Biography

Çağla Şıkel was born on 2 January 1979 in Istanbul. She began her ballet training at the Istanbul University State Conservatory and continued it at the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory; she performed on stage as a contracted artist with the Istanbul State Opera and the Cemal Reşit Rey ballet.

In 1997 she won Miss Turkey; the same year she was named Europe's Queen of Beauty at Miss World, finishing fourth overall, and until 2003 she walked the runway in many countries around the world.

She began acting with the role of Sultan in the series Cennet Mahallesi (2004); she appeared in the series Görgüsüzler, Kavak Yelleri, Avrupa Yakası, Yalan Dünya and Dostlar Mahallesi and hosted numerous programs. In 2008 she married singer Emre Altuğ; they have a son named Kuzey and divorced in 2015. In 2013 she returned to ballet with 'Bach Alla Turca' at the Bodrum Ballet Festival, and in 2015 she launched her own designs.
