Bartu Küçükçağlayan — Biography

Bartu Küçükçağlayan, born 23 April 1983 in Eskişehir, is a Turkish actor, singer and guitarist. After finishing Eskişehir Gelişim Koleji he moved to Istanbul in 2001 to attend the Istanbul University State Conservatory, joining the Kent Oyuncuları theatre troupe alongside his studies; his performance in Kumarbazın Seçimi won four separate awards. His television career began with the 2004 production Haziran Gecesi, followed by roles in Çapkın and Binbir Gece. Wider recognition came through his portrayal of Orçun in Yalan Dünya, which brought him a best comedy actor award, while his role in the film Çoğunluk earned numerous domestic and international honours, including best actor at Antalya's Golden Orange festival. He also showed his writing side by scripting the series Bartu Ben, in which he starred. Alongside acting, he fronts and plays guitar for the rock band Büyük Ev Ablukada under the stage name Canavar Banavar. During the pandemic, livestreams he ran with Melikşah Altuntaş under the name Mücbir Sebepler drew a large following.
