Butterflies (Kelebekler)

Butterflies (Kelebekler) is a 2018 Turkish comedy-drama film written and directed by Tolga Karaçelik. It had its world premiere in January 2018 in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition section of the Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize.

The story follows three siblings who were sent to live with different relatives after their mother's death and grew apart for roughly twenty years. Their estranged father summons them to his remote village, and after setting out on the journey together, the siblings arrive only to learn that he has died. Tolga Tekin and Bartu Küçükçağlayan lead the cast, which also features Gülçin Kültür Şahin and Şebnem Hassanisoughi.
