Hakan Karsak — Biography

Hakan Karsak was born on April 1, 1975, in Diyarbakır. He first took to the stage as an amateur in 1992 with the Ankara Youth Theatre and the Yahya Kemal Beyatlı High School Theatre Club, later training at the Ankara Art Theatre's acting workshop. After studying in the Construction Department at Afyon Kocatepe University, he graduated from the Philosophy Department at Istanbul University; following the 1999 Düzce earthquake he spent two years as a theatre instructor for affected children and young people through a UNICEF-backed program in Düzce.

He made his screen debut in 2011 with the series Firar, followed by roles in Sultan and Vicdan before playing Basri in Benim Adım Gültepe; he gained wider recognition for playing Temel Kalkandere, nicknamed Enişte, in Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz, on air since 2015. On screen he also appeared in the films Min Dît (2009), Press (2009), Ay Lav Yu (2010), Kumun Tadı, Muska and Consequences (2014), and Sarmaşık (2015), and won the Best Actor award at the Bosphorus International Film Festival in 2013.

In later years he appeared in Kelebekler (2018) and Mahkum (2021), and played Nevzat in Veda Mektubu (2023); in 2025 he returned to television as Emin in ATV's series Aile Saadeti, and in 2026 he continued his film career with the release of Aldığımız Nefes.
