My Name Is Gultepe (Benim Adım Gültepe) (translated)

Benim Adım Gültepe (My Name Is Gültepe) is a D Production drama that premiered on Kanal D on September 3, 2014, directed by Zeynep Günay Tan from a script by Vural Yaşaroğlu. Set in İzmir's Gültepe neighborhood in the 1980s, it follows four close friends — Seyfi, Gülali, Fevzi and Murat — with the secret romance between Gülümser (Ayça Bingöl), whose husband is in prison, and the neighborhood's minibus driver Halil (İlker Kızmaz), plus the looming presence of Eşref (Mete Horozoğlu), the block's feared-and-respected tough guy, running through the story.

Ekin Koç and Tolga Sarıtaş round out the leads, with a large supporting cast that included Selen Öztürk, Necmettin Çobanoğlu, İlayda Alişan, Miray Akay, Burak Dakak, Olgun Toker and Bige Önal. The series failed to draw the ratings expected of it and was pulled from the schedule after its eighth episode.
