Savaş Özdemir — Biography

Savaş Özdemir is a Turkish stage, television and film actor, born in Istanbul on 8 May 1970. He attended Eşrefpaşa High School in İzmir and, in 1991, the year he graduated, entered the theatre acting department of Anadolu University's State Conservatory, starting voice work around the same time. After the conservatory he joined the State Theatres in 1997, working not only as an actor but also as a director and writer, and in some productions handling set, costume and art design. At the Adana State Theatre he staged Necati Cumalı's Derya Gülü and Emanuel Marie's Beyaz. In 2011 he was assigned to the Istanbul State Theatre, where his roles have included Kadıncıklar, Bir Anarşistin Kaza Sonucu Ölümü, Fırtına, Köprüden Görünüş and Cadı Kazanı.

He first appeared on screen in Süper Baba in 1993, going on to series such as Yasemince, Mavi Düşler, Avrupa Yakası, Eylül, Sinekli Bakkal, Kuzey Rüzgârı and Adanalı; he played Harzem Toprak in Gülpare and was in the cast of Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu in 2007-2008. Real recognition came with Tipi in Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz, which began on atv in 2015; he also played the character in the film Aman Reis Duymasın and left the series in 2021. Later credits include Benim Hayatım, Sıfırıncı Gün and Dilek Taşı, and in 2024 he played Metin in Kötü Kan and Murad II in Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı.
