Gastone Pescucci — Biography

Comic roles brought Gastone Pescucci his widest recognition; the Italian actor and voice actor came to the screen from the stage. In the theatre he alternated between the classics and modern plays, and he also worked on television and in film. His screen career ran from the late 1960s to the mid-1990s and consisted mostly of supporting parts.

His early film work was marked by titles such as The Two Crusaders (1968) and Oh, Grandmother's Dead (1969). In the 1970s, the busiest years of Italian popular cinema, he worked heavily: besides Between Miracles and Boccaccio, he played Borghese in The Grand Duel (1972) and Karim Gran Visit in Finalmente le mille e una notte (1972). Later in the decade he appeared in comedies such as Scandal in the Family, Substitute Teacher, Taxi Girl and La dottoressa sotto il lenzuolo, and played Tonino in Confessions of a Lady Cop (1976).

In the 1980s he played the crazy cousin in Pierino il fichissimo (1981) and Bashoggi's assistant in Sesso e volentieri (1982). The latest film in his credits is S.P.Q.R.: 2,000 and a Half Years Ago (1994). He died on 28 October 1999.
