Boccaccio

Boccaccio is a 1972 Italian-French comedy film written and directed by Bruno Corbucci, who shared screenplay credit with Mario Amendola, with music composed by Carlo Rustichelli. Shot in Italian and set in Florence, the film is a loose adaptation of Giovanni Boccaccio's Decameron.

The picture belongs to a wave of derivative comedies that followed the success of Pier Paolo Pasolini's 1971 The Decameron. Its large ensemble features Pascale Petit, Guido Celano, Ignazio Leone, Nello Pazzafini, Gastone Pescucci and Luca Sportelli, alongside well-known comic performers of the era such as Enrico Montesano, Lino Banfi and Pippo Franco.
