Squadra antifurto (released in English as Hit Squad) is a 1976 Italian film directed by Bruno Corbucci that blends the poliziottesco crime style with comedy. It is the second entry in the series of films built around Nico Giraldi, the rough-edged Roman police inspector played by Tomas Milian, whose brash manner and unorthodox streetwise methods drive the investigations at the heart of the story. Corbucci co-wrote the screenplay with Mario Amendola. Milian is joined by a cast that includes Robert Webber, Lilli Carati, Giuseppe Pambieri, Giuliana Calandra, Toni Ucci, Olimpia Di Nardo and Bombolo. Running about 101 minutes, the picture mixes action and humor and stands among the more comic-leaning examples of the wave of popular police films that flourished in Italian cinema during the 1970s.
