The Barbarians

The Barbarians is a 1987 sword and sorcery film directed by Ruggero Deodato. An Italian-American co-production made by Cannon Films, it was shot in Rome and the Abruzzo Mountains. The film stars the bodybuilding twin brothers Peter and David Paul, known as the Barbarian Brothers, alongside Richard Lynch and Eva LaRue, with James R. Silke credited as screenwriter. Produced on a budget of around four million dollars, it opened in the United States and Italy in 1987 and reached German cinemas the following year. The picture is also known under the title The Barbarian Brothers. For their performances here, Peter and David Paul received a Golden Raspberry Award nomination for Worst New Star at the 8th Golden Raspberry Awards.
