Endgame
Endgame is a 1983 Italian post-apocalyptic science fiction and action film directed and produced by Joe D'Amato under the pseudonym "Steven Benson". Produced by Filmirage, the film's screenplay was written by George Eastman, who also appears in the cast. It was first released in Italy on 5 November 1983.
Set in a New York City reduced to an irradiated ruin by nuclear catastrophe in 2025, the film depicts a world where the ruling elite hunts telepathic mutants while the public is distracted by a deadly television show called "Endgame". Ron Shannon, the show's seasoned fighter, sets out on a perilous journey to lead a group of mind-reading mutants to safety, confronting his former friend turned nemesis Karnak along the way. Star Al Cliver is joined by Laura Gemser, Gabriele Tinti, Hal Yamanouchi and Gordon Mitchell. Counted among the post-atomic films inspired by Mad Max, it was released in Germany in 1984 as "Endgame – Das letzte Spiel mit dem Tod".
