Ben and Charlie

Ben and Charlie is a 1972 Italian comedy Spaghetti Western directed by Michele Lupo. Originally titled Amico, stammi lontano almeno un palmo, the film also circulated internationally under the names Amigo, Stay Away and Humpty Dumpty Gang. The screenplay was written by Sergio Donati and George Eastman, with Giuliano Gemma and George Eastman in the leading roles, supported by familiar character actors such as Nello Pazzafini, Giovanni Cianfriglia and Aldo Sambrell.

Running about 100 minutes, the film opened in Germany on 18 April 1972 as Ben und Charlie, later appearing on DVD under the title Zwei Himmelhunde im Wilden Westen. Regarded by many critics as a successful entry in the genre, it stands among the more playful and parodic examples of the Spaghetti Western tradition.
