Gupse Özay — Biography

Gupse Özay (born 30 July 1984, İzmir) is a Turkish actress, screenwriter and director of Circassian descent. She studied Radio, Television and Cinema at Ege University; the sketches she shot with friends brought her attention and a place in the cast of the series Yalan Dünya (2012), where her character Nurhayat made her widely known.

She moved to cinema with Deliha (2014), which she wrote and starred in, followed by Küçük Esnaf (2016) and Görümce (2016), which she also scripted; with Deliha 2 (2018), which she both wrote and directed, she made her directing debut. After Eltilerin Savaşı (2020) and Lohusa (2024), she created the Netflix series Platonik: Mavi Dolunay Otel (2025) and the animated series Gupi (2025); in 2026 she published the Gupi children's books and announced she was preparing a music album. She is married to actor Barış Arduç.
