Sister-in-Law (Görümce) (translated)

Görümce (Sister-in-Law) is a Turkish comedy film released on December 2, 2016. Directed by Kıvanç Baruönü and produced by Necati Akpınar, the 109-minute film was written by Gupse Özay, who also plays the lead role, combining her work as a screenwriter and actress.

The story centers on Yeliz, a woman excessively devoted to her brother and jealous of everyone close to him. After losing their parents, she refuses to be separated from him and has driven away every woman entering his life; when his new relationship turns serious, she sets out to sabotage it as well. The comedy grows out of these persistent interventions, turning family possessiveness and the familiar Turkish sister-in-law versus bride tension into everyday humorous situations.
