Kutsi — Biography

Born Ahmet Kutsi Karadoğan on March 16, 1973, in Malatya to mother Hatice and father Şinasi, Kutsi took his stage name from the poet Ahmet Kutsi Tecer. Raised in Ankara and a graduate of Ayrancı Anadolu Lisesi, he left an architecture degree unfinished, bought his first guitar with lottery-ticket winnings, and moved to İstanbul in 1998 with an album of his own compositions.

Discovered by producer Erol Köse, he released the albums Aşk Payını Aldı (2000) and Sana Ne (2005); he wrote songs for Nalan and Berksan, duetted with Petek Dinçöz, and hosted İlan-ı Aşk on Kral TV. With support from Cengiz Kurtoğlu, the song Duvardaki Resmin, from the album Aynı Şehirde Nefes Almak Bile Bana Yetiyor (2007), raised his profile further; his 2008 album Aynadaki Yüzünün Karşılığı Benim reached number one.

He turned to acting in 2006 as Levent Atahanlı in Show TV's Doktorlar, then played Yiğit Özkan in Kahramanlar, Bilal Ocak in Huzur Sokağı, Demir Güner in Beyaz Yalan, Mirat Yavuz in Kalbimdeki Deniz, Halil Şirhan in Benim Adım Melek and Dündar Demir in Annemizi Saklarken, and joined Üvey Anne as Faruk. He married Sinem Bayraktutar in 2008; their daughter Ceylin Ada was born in 2009. He released the albums Bilmem Anlatabildim Mi (2013) and Kutsi En İyiler (Akustik) (2023).
