Mehmet Aslan — Biography

Mehmet Aslan was born on April 29, 1983, in Istanbul; his father was Fahrettin Aslan, known as the "king of nightclubs," his mother was Arzu Aslan, and businessman Sacit Aslan was his older half-brother from his father's first marriage. He spent part of his childhood in Paris, finishing high school there before studying at Boston University, then returned to Turkey in 2002 and continued his education at Yeditepe University.

Aslan began acting in the 2005 series Belalı Baldız and in the years that followed took on parts in Doktorlar, Asayiş Berkemal, Kördüğüm, Nefes Nefese and M.U.C.K, later playing the character Yaman in the 2017 Fox TV series Dayan Yüreğim; on the big screen he was seen in Ayakta Kal, Kırık Kalpler Bankası and Çılgın Dersane. He also took over the company he inherited from his father, active in mining, real estate and tourism.

Aslan served as deputy provincial chairman of the Istanbul branch of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), and in January 2017 he was briefly detained over a social-media post. He later became a founding member of the İYİ Party and stood as its candidate for mayor of Istanbul's Kağıthane district in the 2019 local elections.
