Gülçin Santırcıoğlu — Biography
Gülçin Santırcıoğlu was born on July 25, 1977, in İzmir. She trained in opera and vocal performance at the Dokuz Eylül University Conservatory, and before turning to acting she worked as a soloist with several music groups and taught singing at the Ruhi Su Culture and Arts Foundation.
She made her screen debut in the 2005 film Türev, playing Süreyya, a role that won her the Promising Actress award from the Contemporary Cinema Actors Association; the film itself was named Best Film at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival that year. In 2007 she appeared in Semih Kaplanoğlu's internationally acclaimed film Yumurta (Egg), and that same year her portrayal of Hatice in the series Elveda Rumeli (Farewell Rumelia) brought her wider recognition.
In the years that followed she took on roles in series such as Doktorlar, Sensiz Yaşayamam, Bir Çocuk Sevdim, Osmanlı Tokadı, Kara Ekmek and Oyunbozan, and played Çolpan in TRT 1's historical drama Diriliş Ertuğrul. She portrayed Sultan in the 2019 series Hercai and Vildan in the 2021 film Azizler, and since 2022 has appeared in both Andropoz and the popular series Yalı Çapkını, where her character İfakat has become one of her best-known roles in the Turkish press.
