Toprak Sağlam — Biography

Toprak Sağlam was born on 9 October 1985 in Istanbul. Her family roots are in Trabzon; her mother is Handan Sağlam and her father the painter Şakir Sağlam, and her mother's side comes from Arhavi in Artvin. She did folk dancing for eleven years and has long played guitar and sung. In 2007 she graduated top of her class from the Theatre Department of the Müjdat Gezen Arts Center Conservatory, with Kaç Baba Kaç as her graduation play, and later performed on stage in Herostratus'u Unut and Artiz Mektebi.

She made her television debut in 2005 as Fidan in İlk Göz Ağrısı, followed by series such as Karınca Yuvası, Kuzey Rüzgarı and Dantel. Her first feature, Raşit Çelikezer's Gökten Üç Elma Düştü (2008), won her the Promising New Actress award at the 20th Ankara International Film Festival. In the following years she appeared in the series Hicran Yarası, Yerden Yüksek, Osmanlı Tokadı and Kara Ekmek, and in the films Eksik, Delibal and Düğüm Salonu. She played Gözde in Bodrum Masalı, Emel in Güvercin and Nermin in Elkızı, and Mehmed: Bir Cihan Fatihi is also among her credits.

In 2023 her role as Zerrin in Yalı Çapkını divided audiences. In 2026 she appeared on ATV as Altın in the series A.B.İ. She has also released the singles Can Yarası (2017) and Gitme (2020).
