Mert Kılıç — Biography
Mert Kılıç is an actor and screenwriter who came to acting from football and modelling. A leading role in Samanyolu TV's Şefkat Tepe made him known, and in 2022 he both played the lead in and directed the film Komutan.
He was born in Merzifon and stands 1.91 m tall. Before turning to modelling he played professional football for Vanspor, Edirnespor and Tekirdağspor. He was chosen best model in a competition in 2002 and moved into modelling, then went to the United States to study acting at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. His first screen work was a supporting part in Gurbet Kadını in 2003. He then worked in recurring roles, and Şefkat Tepe became the turning point of his career.
In 2014 he played Captain Serdar Mert in the series Sungurlar. In Komutan he played Major Tuna Kalkan. In June 2013 he married Aslıhan Güner, his co-star on Şefkat Tepe.
