Woman of the Foreign Land (Gurbet Kadını) (translated)

Gurbet Kadını is a Turkish drama series produced by Erler Film that aired on Show TV from 6 October 2003 to 28 June 2005. The show ran for two seasons and ended after a total of 75 episodes. Şahin Gök directed the first season, while veteran director Melih Gülgen took over for the second.

The story follows Elif, who leads a settled life in Istanbul with her two children before marrying into the Boyatlıs, a long-established tribe in Urfa. When her husband dies in a suspicious accident, Elif is drawn into a difficult struggle in an unfamiliar land; under the protection of Zeyno Ana, the tribe's leader, she confronts both the enmities of the past and her own destiny. The cast was led by Meltem Cumbul, Fatma Girik, Burak Hakkı and Timuçin Esen.
