Muhteşem Durukan — Biography
Muhteşem Durukan (born May 1, 1926, Istanbul – died October 3, 1990, Istanbul) was a Turkish actor and screenwriter who began performing on stage at the Eminönü People's House after graduating from Haydarpaşa High School in 1944. During the 1950s he wrote screenplays and directed films, and later became known in Turkish Yeşilçam cinema for his memorable supporting roles and character types.
Durukan appeared as "Konyakçı" in the Kemal Sunal comedy Gerzek Şaban (1980), and also took roles in films such as Kaplanlar Ağlamaz (1978), O Kadın (1982), Yedi Bela Hüsnü (1982), and Tokatçı (1983). On television, he was remembered for the series Yorgun Savaşçı (1979).
He died in Istanbul on October 3, 1990.
