Necati Şaşmaz — Biography

Muhammed Necati Şaşmaz (born December 15, 1971, in Elazığ/Harput) is a Turkish actor, screenwriter, producer and businessman. He studied hotel management and tourism in both Turkey and Canada and lived in the United States for a period, but decided to settle back in Turkey following the September 11 attacks.

A chance meeting with director Osman Sınav in Istanbul proved to be the turning point of his career: Sınav offered him the role of Polat Alemdar in the television series Kurtlar Vadisi, a part that made Şaşmaz one of Turkey's most recognizable actors. The brother of director Raci Şaşmaz, he went on to reprise the character in the franchise's film spin-offs — Kurtlar Vadisi Irak, Kurtlar Vadisi Terör, Kurtlar Vadisi Filistin and Kurtlar Vadisi Vatan — while also taking on writing and producing credits.
