Osman Soykut — Biography

Born on January 1, 1957, in Ankara, Osman Soykut is a Turkish-American actor also known by the stage name Ozman Sirgood; he has Dagestani ancestry on his mother's side and Crimean Tatar roots on his father's. He attended Frankfurt International School and TED Ankara College before earning an architecture degree from METU, then practiced architecture in Ankara and Istanbul. He moved to the United States in the mid-1980s, working in set and theme-park design for firms including Landmark Entertainment Group and Sequoia Creative, then moving into 3D animation for game companies such as Microprose and Walt Disney Interactive.

He took up acting as a hobby in 1996 and built a career from it after years of training under director Milton Katselas, working alongside Al Pacino, John Malkovich, Steve Martin and Julian McMahon on Charmed, Alias and The Bold and the Beautiful and in the films Art School Confidential and The Hot Chick; in 2016 he played Deputy Governor Mazhar opposite Christian Bale in The Promise. He became known in Turkey through the 2007 series İki Yabancı, then played Haydar in Pars: Narkoterör and Aron Feller in Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu (2009), with further roles in Adanalı, Merhaba Hayat and Tatar Ramazan. After playing İbn-i Arabi in Diriliş Ertuğrul, he joined Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı as Lukas Notaras in 2024.
