Pelin Karahan — Biography

Vildan Pelin Karahan was born in Ankara on 6 October 1984, to a family with roots among Thessaloniki immigrants on her mother's side and Albanian ancestry through her maternal grandmother. After primary and middle school split between Ankara and Ödemiş, she finished Sokullu Mehmet Paşa High School and graduated from the tourism management program at Anadolu University; once in Istanbul she signed with Erberk Agency and got her start on camera through commercials.

She made her acting debut in the 2005 series Cemalim, then became widely known in 2007 for playing Aslı Zeybek in Kavak Yelleri. Cast as Mihrimah Sultan, daughter of Süleyman the Magnificent, in Muhteşem Yüzyıl from 2011, she reached a large audience abroad as well, and later took roles in Yeter (2015) and the historical drama Bir Zamanlar Kıbrıs. She has also worked as a TV host, presenting an animal-care program on TRT Okul, the cooking show Nefis Tarifler on Show TV, and a Ramadan cooking program, Pelin'in Mutfağı, on Star TV. In her personal life she was married to pilates instructor Erdinç Bekiroğlu from 2011 to 2013, then to businessman Bedri Güntay from 2014; the couple had two sons before divorcing in 2026.
