Yasemin Allen — Biography
Yasemin Kay Allen was born on 10 July 1989 in London to an English father and Turkish actress Suna Yıldızoğlu. She spent her early childhood in Turkey before moving to Australia with her mother at age 11, where she studied film and television at the University of Queensland and, in 2008, reached the finals of L'Oréal's "New Face" talent search.
After returning to Turkey, she took her first leading role in the series Elif and made her film debut as Yağmur in Su ve Ateş, written and directed by Özcan Deniz. She went on to play Defne Sultan in Muhteşem Yüzyıl in 2014, appeared alongside Murat Boz and İrem Sak in the 2016 romantic comedy Dönerse Senindir, and portrayed detective Ayşe Farsakoğlu in the 2023 British production The Turkish Detective.
In 2026 she returned to screens in the Netflix series Ayrılık da Sevdaya Dahil. That same year she married Erdal Kaya, a former FBI agent, in a quick civil ceremony and celebrated her 37th birthday aboard a boat.
