Sedef Şahin — Biography

Sedef Şahin was born on 14 May 1992 in Istanbul. She began her theatre training at the private Pera Fine Arts High School and completed it at the Theatre Department of Istanbul University State Conservatory.

She started out in commercials and catalogue work for brands such as LC Waikiki and Beymen, then took guest roles in the series Patron Kim in 2003 and Avrupa Yakası in 2004. She drew attention playing Yeşim in the 2005 series Belalı Baldız, and played Mine in Sevgili Dünürüm in 2007-2008. In 2010 she performed on stage in Kraliçe Lear alongside veteran theatre actress Yıldız Kenter. She became widely known for playing Cansu in Adını Feriha Koydum in 2011, continuing the same character in Emir'in Yolu in 2012. After a role in Acil Aşk Aranıyor in 2015, she played Maria in the series Diriliş Ertuğrul, leaving the show in 2016. According to Turkish media reports, she stepped back from acting in 2024 to become a university lecturer.
