Anahit
Anahit is a Soviet Armenian film shot at the Armenfilm studio in 1947 by the master director Hamo Beknazaryan. Rooted in the Armenian folk-tale tradition, it takes its name from the legendary heroine Anahit and tells a story that exalts the worth of craft and honest labour. The great Armenian stage actor Hıraçya Nersesyan appears in the cast. The film exemplifies Armenian cinema's post-war turn toward fairy-tale and historical sources.
